A Mayor’s Vision for 100% Renewable Energy

March 22, 2018 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

10.01$

7:00pm, Thursday March 22
10C – 42 Carden Street

Can David Mayberry’s vision work in Guelph? He has an idea for Oxford County – achieve 100% Renewable Energy by 2050. Mayberry, County Warden and Mayor of the Township of South West Oxford sees this as a big economic driver while benefiting the environment in a big way.

And in 2015 Oxford County Council adopted this goal for all of its energy needs including: electricity, heating, cooling, and transportation. Situated in Southern Ontario, Oxford is composed of eight municipalities – including Woodstock – with a population just under Guelph.

The event will showcase Oxford County Mayor, David Mayberry, along with Vice President of Advanced Planning for Alectra, Neetika Sathe. For its part, Alectra Utilities will soon take the place of Guelph Hydro. As Guelph joins several other municipalities under Alectra’s umbrella, the growing utility provider will be creating a new green energy and technology centre locally.
